Revelle Provost Academic Conference Support

Revelle College encourages Revelle students to present their research papers and projects at educational and professional conferences. Revelle College students can apply for funding support to subsidize academic conference registration and/or travel expenses associated with attending conferences where students are presenting.

The amount of support awarded will depend upon the specifics of the conference for which the student is seeking funding and the overall availability of funds. Students may apply one time each academic year. Revelle students from all majors are eligible to apply. The Revelle College Provost’s Office will evaluate each request. The applicant must secure a brief statement of support from a UC San Diego faculty sponsor.

Application Details   

• Applicants must be current Revelle students in good standing at the time of conference attendance
• Obtain and upload a brief statement of support from a faculty sponsor and upload to application, or faculty can send directly to  reprovost@ucsd.edu; they should include the name of the conference and your name in their support email.
• Upload invitation and acceptance to present a paper, or project at the academic conference
• Students must apply for and be approved for funding before attending the conference

Selection of Recipients

The Revelle College Provost’s Office will select academic conference registration and/or travel for the student who presents at the conference. You and your faculty sponsor will be notified of the decision in writing at their UC San Diego email address.

How to Apply

The application must be completed and submitted online:

• Application: Complete all parts.  Applicants may submit only one application per academic year.  Applicants must meet all criteria to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
• Description of Project and Conference: Describe the research paper or project in the space provided on the application. Include a description of the conference, why you would like to attend, and what educational/professional benefits you would receive by attending the conference.
• Faculty Sponsor’s Statement of Support: A letter stating support is required.  It is the applicant’s responsibility to either upload the faculty support document or ensure that faculty sponsor emails the document of support to reprovost@ucsd.edu.
