Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. Lying on the east coast of the United Kingdom, Edinburgh is a small city with a long history, integrated with natural landscapes, and possessing a rich cultural heritage. It was made a UNESCO City of Literature for its celebration of its literary history. Near the city’s center is Arthur’s Seat, a large volcanic hill with an incredible view of the city. From there you can see the stretch of The Royal Mile, from its foot at Holyrood Palace to Edinburgh Castle at the top. All around it is a thriving and lively contemporary city. Fulfills HUM 4 and HUM 3 or 5 requirement. Learn more about Revelle in Edinburgh.
Today’s Berlin is the political capital of Germany, the most populous country in Western Europe, home to the world’s third-largest GDP (after the United States and China), and a hub of transnational cultural exchanges. Beneath its surface—bound together by an ecologically friendly network of public transportation—lie layers of history. The Berlin Wall divided the city for decades and became a potent symbol of Cold War tensions between the communist East and the capitalist West. Still earlier, Berlin was a center of the European Enlightenment under the rule of Frederick “the Great,” king of Prussia. This Global Seminar will take full advantage of Berlin’s cultural wealth and historical depth, combining classroom instruction with frequent excursions to major museums and monuments. Fulfills HUM 4 and HUM 3 or 5 requirement. Learn more about Revelle in Berlin.
In Santiago, you will discover a city of incredible contrasts. You will encounter a colonial city with a rich and diverse history that gave birth to one of the most important literary traditions in Latin America. You will also find the modern capital of one of the wealthiest and most progressive countries in Latin America featuring immersive museums, world-class restaurants, and a thriving live music scene. Santiago is also the gateway to Chile, one of the most ecologically diverse and dramatic landscapes in the world. From your base in Santiago, you could surf in the Pacific Ocean one day, ski in the Andes Mountains the next, and then head down to Southern Chile for a weekend of hiking, rock climbing, and white-water rafting. You could even brave Patagonia and explore one of the natural wonders of the world. Fulfills HUM 3 and HUM 4 or 5 requirement. Learn more about Revelle in Santiago.
Revelle in Rome will return for Summer 2026.
