Revelle Students CheeringFirst-Year Student Orientation Sessions

Special Notice: We’re upgrading our Orientation Program for next year. The information found below only applies to the first-year class of 2023. Dates, times and fees subject to changes.

Welcome Class of 2023! We’re excited to meet you at orientation. We’re here to help you get to know your new home at Revelle College. You’ll have Orientation Leaders to serve as your student guide as you learn about all your academic, leadership, and involvement opportunities, and meet fellow students, staff, and faculty along the way. This is your chance for a smooth transition to Triton and Revelle life.

Below you’ll find information about orientation sessions, a breakdown of costs, and a link to some frequently asked questions. A couple of important notes:

  • Registration for orientation happens on the New Student Site. Register by the deadlines listed below to avoid any late fees.
  • Download the Revelle App to start exploring Revelle College. This will be a tool you use as a resource for Orientation, so be sure to have it installed when you attend. Please contact us if you have any concerns about the app.
  • Parent & Family Orientation is a separate, optional but encouraged event that requires an invitation from the student. Students can send the invitation on the New Student Site.
  • September orientations are reserved for Out of State and International Students unless you have special circumstances. Please contact us with questions or concerns.
  • Check in at the side of Galbraith hall near the La Jolla Project (aka Stonehenge) at 8:00 am for June sessions and 7:30 am for September sessions.
  • Check out for June sessions at 12:30 pm on Day 2 and for September sessions at 9:30 pm.

Orientation Session Fees

The fee includes a t-shirt, four meals, the Revelle App, a variety of Welcome Week activities, and the required Convocation meal on Tuesday, September 24. Welcome Week activities take place from September 23-29.

Do not send payment for the Orientation fee. The fee will be reviewed by the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office to determine whether or not any part of it will be covered by your financial aid. The remainder of the fee, if any, will be billed to your university account in the August or October billing statement.

June Session Fees (session 1, 2, 3):

  • All students: $255.00, which includes one night of required on-campus housing
  • This fee does not include early housing. Early housing, if available and needed, will be an additional $50.00 and will be added to your Orientation fee. Early housing allows you to spend the night before Orientation begins.

September Session Fees (session 4, 5):

  • Students with housing contracts: $325.00, which includes three nights required on-campus housing
  • Students without housing contracts: $205.00, no housing included
  • Students attending a September session who do not have housing contracts for the academic year must make their own housing arrangements for September orientation.

Attention international students and international families

All new international students (including transfer students from other U.S. schools) must sign up for and attend TWO orientations:

  1. Revelle College First-Year Orientation OR Revelle College Transfer Orientation (selection depends on your new student status)
  2. International Student Orientation offered by the International Students and Programs Office

The International Students and Programs Office in collaboration with the Parent and Family Programs office offer an optional International Parent and Family Orientation program for parents as well.
