New Student Orientation

Welcome to Revelle College!  Whether you're a freshman, transfer student, or family member, we are looking forward to meeting you as the newest member of our college community.

Orientation is the beginning of your college experience and career! It is the first step toward your academic and co-curricular success. As a new University of California, San Diego student, you are required to participate in a college orientation program for new students. Orientation consists of an on-campus session about student life and academic expectations at UCSD and Revelle College. Orientation is designed to:

  • Ensure a smooth transition as you prepare for your undergraduate experience at UCSD
  • Give general information about University and College academic requirements and standards
  • Offer an opportunity to meet other new students, staff and faculty
  • Present an opportunity to learn about leadership, governance, clubs, sports, activities and other ways to get involved

The student does NOT enroll in first quarter classes during an orientation program although they receive general information about the enrollment process.  Students will enroll from home (or anywhere in the world) on the Internet prior to the beginning of the quarter. Through the UCSD New Student Site students will learn about enrollment and choose an orientation session.   They also will get help from the College Academic Advisors well in advance of the enrollment period. Transfer students also receive academic advising from their Major Advisor prior to their enrollment.

We Look Forward to Meeting You at Orientation 2013!
