Welcome Week is an annual UC San Diego tradition designed to foster Triton Spirit for new and returning students.Get your bearings, make friends, learn more about your new community, and attend the Welcome Convocation and Dinner, the top event of the Week that celebrates your formal entrance to UC San Diego Community of Scholars!
During Welcome Week, students in each college vie for the coveted Golden Shoe. Unolympics is one of the longest running tradition at UC San Diego. Compete in the crazy bat spin, an obstacle course, a baloon relay, and a dance off.
Student Services Fair
Student information fair with over 100 UC San Diego student organizations, live entertainment, food, and free stuff. Hosted by the UC San Diego Center for Student Involvement.
The Annual UC San Diego Family Weekend is held in October. Parents and families are invited to on campus to get glimpse of campus life and to share in fun activities with their students.
Family Day @ Revelle College
During Family Weekend, join Revelle College’s Provost and staff for a special program designed for Revelle families and students. Connect with Revelle’s staff and students in activities that include engaging speakers, student performances, and time to chat with student leaders and staff.
The campus community comes together each November for Founder’s Day to honor the founding of the UC San Diego campus and the remarkable Tritons around the world who make this one of the top 10 public universities in the nation.
The six Colleges come together in competition to support Triton Athletics. Students decorate residences, hold College pep rallies and cheering contests, and end the evening with the presentation of the Spirit Night Trophy and Cup of Cheer ~ a tradition since 1986.

Revelle College Semi-Formal
Dress to impress at Revelle’s annual, off-campus, dance held each winter quarter. Think less formal than formal attire, but more formal than casual!
Students admitted to UC San Diego and their families explore and discover everything they need to know about attending UC San Diego, inside and outside the classroom. Explore Revelle College, tour residence halls, engage with staff and current students, and meet future classmates.
Join Revelle Students, staff, and faculty for the annual Watermelon Drop. Held on the last Friday of the spring quarter, the Watermelon Drop is UC San Diego’s longest-enduring tradition. Following the Watermelon Drop, enjoy free watermelon and cake in Revelle Plaza.
